At 748 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding in Dizney. Between 0.75 and 1.75 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is already occurring.

IMPACT Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Hazard, Ritchie, Hardshell, Noble, Lamont, Dice, Ary, Emmalena, Ned, Clayhole, Bearville, Cordia, Rowdy, Carrie, Talcum, Watts, Bulan, Fisty, and Dwarf. THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS... Hal Rogers Parkway between mile markers 55 and 59. Kentucky Highway 80 in Knott County between mile markers 1 and 5. Kentucky Highway 80 in Perry County between mile markers 9 and 15.

While the heaviest of the rain had ended, localized high water is possible over the next hour or so in the typical low-lying trouble areas, with any high water receding thereafter. Bluegrass Foothills
Clouds and light rain will persist through the day. Humidity will be high, and rain will be most frequent in the afternoon.
Northeast Kentucky
Expect a cloudy day with light rain showers becoming more frequent by evening. It will remain warm and very humid.
Southeast Kentucky
A foggy start is likely in the mountain valleys, followed by a humid afternoon with periods of light rain.
Possible Outcomes
Weather forecasting involves uncertainty. Below are two scenarios representing the range of possible outcomes: the "Boom" scenario shows the worst-case/highest-impact result if conditions align unfavorably, while the "Bust" scenario shows the best-case/lowest-impact result if the forecast doesn't materialize as expected.

The cold front pushes further south than anticipated, bringing rain-cooled 70s and 80s as far south as the Bluegrass Parkway and curbing the heat in Louisville.

Global models (GFS/Euro) suggest a broad plume of stratiform rain for the eastern half of the state, while the NAM is significantly drier.

Global models generally capture the scale of mid-level shortwaves and moisture transport better than the NAM's mesoscale focus in summer regimes.
The Louisville Heat Divide
A major conflict exists for the Louisville Metro. The NAM brings a sharp cold front through by mid-afternoon with heavy rain and a 20-degree temp drop. The GFS keeps the city bone dry and sizzling at 97F.
Why BLEND Wins
The NAM's timing with the surface front is likely too aggressive, but the GFS's total lack of moisture contradicts the incoming shortwave. A compromise leaning toward the Euro's light rain and cloud cooling is most probable.
