Kentucky AI Forecasting Beta

Privacy Policy

How we handle your data.

Simple & Transparent

We believe in privacy by design. The Kentucky AI Weather Engine does not sell your data, track your personal movements, or require an account to use.

1. Data We Collect

Usage Analytics: We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage data (e.g., which regions are most viewed) to help us improve the engine. This data is not linked to your identity.

Local Preferences: We use your browser's local storage to save your preferred weather region and view settings (e.g., Map vs List). This data never leaves your device and is not synced to our servers.

2. Interface & Voice Privacy

Whether you access Kentucky AI Weather via our website, voice assistants (like Alexa), or social media integrations:

  • No Personal Identification: We do not require account creation and do not receive your name, email, or exact physical address.
  • Voice Assistants: When using our voice briefings, we only receive the request to play the latest audio file. We do not receive any recordings of your voice or access to your home network.
  • Data Minimization: We only log the minimum technical data necessary to deliver the weather content you requested (e.g., request timestamp and general device type).

3. Third-Party Services

Our weather data comes from public sources (NWS, NOAA, Mesonet). We also use AWS (S3) for audio file hosting and Google Cloud for Text-to-Speech synthesis. These providers do not receive any personal data from you through your use of this site.

4. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available here at kywx.report/privacy.
