At 1157 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near South Shore to near Flemingsburg to 7 miles west of Cynthiana. Movement was southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE Radar indicated.
IMPACT Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Mount Sterling, Morehead, Flemingsburg, Owingsville, Marshall, Sharpsburg, Salt Lick, Fairview, Ramey, Pecks Ridge, Wyoming, Elliottville, Peasticks, Olympia Springs, Triplett, Flat Creek, Christy, Odessa, Hilda, and Bourbon Furnace. THIS INCLUDES Interstate 64 in eastern Kentucky between mile markers 105 and 148.

Expect around 0.4 inches of rain today. The afternoon will be breezy as a cold front brings in much drier and cooler air for the evening.
Northeast Kentucky
After a very hot start near 93 degrees, heavy rain will move in. Accumulations around 1.1 inches are expected by tonight.
Southeast Kentucky
Rain will move through the mountains today, bringing around 0.4 inches of accumulation. It will turn much cooler after sunset.
